Parkersburg is located at the confluence of the Ohio and Little Kanawha rivers, and is the third-largest city in the State of West Virginia. The city has a total area of 12.35 square miles, and a population of approx 31,492 people.

| Parkersburg Fire Department - Stations & Apparatus
|
The Parkersburg Fire Department - protects a resident population of 33,000 and a daytime population of approximately 50,000 people. The area consists of 12 square miles located along the convergence of the Little Kanawha and Ohio Rivers. It is easily accessed from Interstate 77 and US Route 50.
The department is staffed with 57 career firefighters (54 hour schedule), working out of 6 fire stations. In addition to firefighting, the department also responds to automobile accidents, search and rescue, water rescue, emergency medical backup, fire prevention education and a multitude of other requests.
